    How to dress

    Dressing accordingly is very important.
    Choose several layers to allow you to
    adapt to changing climatic conditions
    and choose warm, waterproof and
    breathableclothesthat allow you to
    be comfortable.

    Remember to protect your extremities:
    your nose, ears and fingers...

  2. Choosing the proper equipment

    Equipment selection is crucial. An incredible
    variety of skis and snowboards is available.
    The length and model of this piece of equipment
    should be chosen in accordance with your size,
    your physical ability and the riding style that
    appeals to you.

    Do not hesitate to seek professional help,
    professionals will ask the right questions and
    will suggest equipment that suits you and fits
    your budget. Many ski centers allow you to try
    demos before making your final choice,
    a great way to avoid disappointment...

  3. A lesson with that?

    Downhill skiing and snowboarding are
    technical sports, it is recommended to
    train with experienced instructors who
    will teach you the tricks and techniques
    for proper learning. Your safety and
    enjoyment depend on this.

    Appropriate lesson plans are offered
    according to the ski resort, it is up
    to you to decide if you prefer private,
    semi-private or group lessons.

  4. Yes to a helmet

    The Québec Ski Association recommends
    wearing a helmet as an additional security
    measure. Learn about the benefits and
    limitations of different models and make sure
    the helmet selected carries an official seal
    of approval.

    Wearing a helmet does not mean that
    all risks are permitted, it is important,
    above all, to respect the code of conduct
    and to choose safe behaviour.

  5. Have fun!

    Winter sports par excellence,
    downhill skiing and snowboarding
    can be practiced alone, with friends
    or with family. The benefits are
    both physical and psychological.

    The physical and cardiovascular benefits
    compliment the great benefits of relaxation
    in the outdoors. The Laurentians are regarded
    as the cradle of downhill skiing in Québec and
