The Canadian Ski Patrol System (C.S.P.S.) is a non-profit organization composed of professional volunteers who have received first-rate training. This national organization was created to promote ski safety and offers first aid services to clients in need.
The C.S.P.S. offers a standardized, highly competent and dependable service to snow sport enthusiasts free of charge. The Canadian Ski Patrol was founded in 1940 and now has over 5,500 volunteer members throughout Canada. It actively patrols 225 ski stations from coast to coast.
Activities of the organization's 63 zone presidents and 9 division presidents are coordinated by the National Board of Directors which constitutes the management committee responsible for administering this Ottawa-based organization. The C.S.P.S. is known for the quality and professionalism of its members.
The Laurentian Zone offers its services to the ski centers (downhill and cross-country) of the Laurentian region and boasts more than 500 members.
The C.S.P.S. trains patrollers in downhill and Nordic skiing as well as on snowboards and in telemarking. Services to members include, among others, high-level first aid training, insurance for volunteer patrollers, uniforms and training manuals.
